Summer Bagheera

Eyes closed, enjoying the summer wind

I know I always draw my cat, Bagheera, if I have the opportunity, but this small creature is such an inspiration, and I miss her terribly as she does not live with me.

I remmeber her jumping around my back garden, chasing lizards after napping in the fresh water of the fountain, then suddenly she stopped, looked up to the sun and closed her eyes, enjoying a nice gentle gust of wind, softly moving her whiskers, at that moment I laughed, in between the flowers my mother tend to with such care, she was having a small pause of enjoyment.

I decided to create this piece for myself to remember that moment, and of course, as always, I added lots of flowers and greenery, some of them you can still find at my mother’s garden, and others I just decided fit nicely.

I have a specific color palette for this illustration, though it is not limited, as I stuck to the real flowers’ color scheme.

I originally drew this sketch first on a watercolor sketchbook, which is yet to be completed in watercolor, but then decided to complete it digitally in Procreate as I wanted more vibrant colors to do the flowers justice.
